Dogs

| | Comments (0)

I fucking hate dogs. They are nasty vile creatures and I have no idea why anyone would want to own one. A few years ago there was a SF city council meeting discussing banning dogs from the city. Can we please bring that idea back? Fucking dogs have no place in a concrete jungle like sf. If you want to own a dog go live in Kansas or something.

Warning

Ok, so my brother forwarded this to me. I thought it was funny, so here it is:

Subject: be aware---read to the end!

If you receive an email entitled "Bedtimes" delete it IMMEDIATELY. Do not
open it . Apparently this one is pretty nasty. It will not only erase
everything on your hard drive, but it will also delete anything on disks
within 20 feet of your computer. It demagnetizes the stripes on ALL of your
credit cards. It reprograms your ATM access code, screws up the tracking on
your VCR, and uses subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you attempt
to play. It will program your phone auto dial to call only 0898 numbers.
This virus will mix antifreeze into your fish tank.

IT WILL CAUSE YOUR TOILET TO FLUSH WHILE YOU ARE SHOWERING. It will
drink ALL your beer. FOR GOD'S SAKE, ARE YOU LISTENING?? It will
leave dirty underwear on the coffee table when you are expecting
company. It will replace your shampoo with Nair and your Nair with
Rogaine. If the "Bedtimes" message opened in a Windows NT
environment, it will leave the toilet seat up and leave your hair
dryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bathtub. It will not
only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows, it
will also refill your skim milk with whole milk.

WARN AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN. ***
And if you don't send this to 5000 people in 20 seconds, you'll fart
so hard that your right leg will spasm and shoot straight out in
front of you, sending sparks that will ignite the person nearest you.

Send this warning to everyone!!! THERE'S A LOT OF SADNESS IN THE
WORLD! Right now, as you read this, 17 Million people are having
SEX!!! And look at you - you're on the computer!!!!

GTA: San Andreas

| | Comments (0)

My second left-wing bash of the day goes to Hillary Clinton. The woman is trying to out-republician the republicans with this uproar over GTA:San Andreas. First of all, it's a fricken video game. Second, it's rated M for 17+. This "will someone think of the children" crap is utter bullshit. The only children playing this game are ones where their parents bought the game for them. If that's a problem it's the parents problem. It's not the fault of the "game modder" community for exposing the (what I'd call an) easter egg, and it's not the fault of Rockstar for putting it in there in the first place. It's an adult game, meant for adults.

That said, I don't blame the ESRB for backing down on this one, or Rockstar for saying they'll release a clean version. Given the politics of the whole thing it's probably all they can do.

Effin Liberals

I pretty liberal. I voted democrat in the last few elections. I'm a member of moveon.org as well as PFAW and the League of Pissed Off Voters.

Still, I think this supreme court nomination war has totally gotten out of hand. I think that the liberal groups should back off. I mean seriously. Did they think bush was going to nominate some far left liberal just to satisfy them. I think they were dreaming if they thought we'd get a centrist.

In the end Bush nominated a guy who is an accomplished lawyer and jurist. There isn't much of a record to go on, but he looks pretty centrist/center-right. I think it's as good as any liberal could have hoped for. I mean, he didn't nominate Jerry Falwell did he?

IMNSHO all the liberal interest groups didn't get the nominee that they were hoping to fight against. They should stash their war chests and let this one go. Then when Renquist retires they can attack the extreme right candidate that Bush is sure to nominate.

Whatever, nobody is listening to me anyway.

Oh, and zoom in all the way.

Or at least the most useful.

It's a map based interface for the craigslist classifieds.

The tall-ship Nippon Maru is currently docked at pier 35 in San Francisco. They will be there until wednesday. They are giving tours tomorrow 9am-10:30am and 1pm-3:30pm. I got to go to see the ship tonight and it is absolutely beautiful.

Interesting Idea

Some smart people in the UK came up with the idea of a special entry in your cell phone address book for emergencies. The idea is you store a phone number in your address book under the name "ICE".
