So, this is a really cool presentation, but the subject matter is cool too.

Watch it :-D.

Wal-Mart

So most of my progressive friends hate Wal-Mart because it's evil.

But really, it does have some good effects, as noted here.

This just about made my week

And it's only monday.

Mmm... Blue.

This is really absurd. It's interesting that no credible American news agencies covered the story. Is it because it's stupid? The woman interviewed in the article sounds pretty nutty.

Mac "Hibernate"

I need to go look at this at some point... Right now it seems like a good idea to shutdown/restart my mac about once a week. Some system process has a cpu/memory leak. I'm not sure if it was fixed in 10.4.3.

Social Responsibility

When I used to work for the Gap I sometimes faced criticism from my more left-leaning friends because of Gap's overseas sourcing. The typical criticism was some generic statement about using third-world labor, sweat shops etc. I often tried to defend the Gap, partially because I worked for them, but also because I believed that they were trying to do the right thing. Every company is going to have problems when it works with third world suppliers, but I think the Gap does an amazing job of being socially responsible.

More information about how the Gap really is socially responsible is here.

I hate them. I hate them when they bark at 7am. I particularly hate it when they bark for half an hour at 7am. Argh. Sleepy Jonah.
