Of all the stupid...

| | Comments (0)

According to the SF Cronic Anti-Abortion activists are up in arms over the Gates-Buffet charity because the two have occasionally funded Planned Parenthood and other family planning charities.

Wow, so they're curing diseases and saving lives in the developing world, and all these people can see is the <1% that's gone to family planning. Talk about being blinded by hate.

Sigh

This is a really insigful post about the recent MySpace scandals and internet safety in general. Everybody should read it.

Have some respect!

Respect the younger generation.

I pretty much agree. I also have to make one other point. Every now and then I hear some crazy left-wing pundit bitch and moan about how people in my generation don't care about Pensions. Okay, the reason we don't care about pensions is that we've seen how well it worked out for our parents and we'd rather have control of our own financial well being. Pay me more and let me invest the money. I like the transparency and flexibility of my 401k.

Walk the Line

So... Jonah's continuing 1 line movie reviews...

Walk the Line was good. It was a good romance/drama. It supposedly didn't do a very good job of showing the life of Johnny Cash, it was more a love story about him and June Carter, but it was fun and entertaining to watch. Worth my roommate's netflix rental.

I surfed across this post today I had I had to share it.

Daily Kos: Why the Right-Wing Gets It--and Why Dems Don't [UPDATED]

Interesting Article from the Guardian.

Disturbing

This article in the NYTimes is really disturbing. It's one step closer to an Orwellian state. It's also terribly impractical. Store every web page, email and search I do over a two year period? Most ISPs don't track this data at all, or at least they shouldn't. Two years would require a huge amount of storage space and processing power. Also, if this data does exist, what's going to stop the government from rounding up everyone who searched for some specific search term? Ugh.

As someone said earlier "Kiddie Porn is the root password to the bill of rights." How many civil liberties are we going to give up over child porn and terrorism?
