Disturbing

This article in the NYTimes is really disturbing. It's one step closer to an Orwellian state. It's also terribly impractical. Store every web page, email and search I do over a two year period? Most ISPs don't track this data at all, or at least they shouldn't. Two years would require a huge amount of storage space and processing power. Also, if this data does exist, what's going to stop the government from rounding up everyone who searched for some specific search term? Ugh.

As someone said earlier "Kiddie Porn is the root password to the bill of rights." How many civil liberties are we going to give up over child porn and terrorism?

but think of all the work for people building the storage capacity, the buildings to hold it, and on and on.
for some years now, i have wanted to start a website entitled "kidporn.com" which would consist of page upon page of naked prepubesant goats of both sexes frolicking with each other. imagine the frustration of those looking for such porn and those looking to stop it.
